This year, we as a staff, are placing emphasis on the beginning, middle and end of day as a way to pro-actively build culture, community and safety.

Each class, this year, will have a Morning and Afternoon Meeting time. This time of the day is vitally important as it allows for preview and review of the day, community sharing and connection, opportunity for more in-depth conversation on class issues, organizational support for the upcoming day or the home assignments to come, and many other pieces. Most importantly, this is important because the class starts and ends each day as a class community.

We are also placing significant emphasis on the Middle of the Day. We will now have four recess/lunch periods which will mean that only 44 kids at a time will be out on the playground in K-5. We will be adding more adults (with the help of our new PE teacher Mr. Williams and our parent volunteers). And, we will be keeping a stocked recess closet full of things to do!
