Regardless of anyone’s political beliefs or party affiliations, we just want to acknowledge and celebrate the history made this week by the election of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States. We each have our different stories of where we were or who we were with when that announcement came through. It is a moment that is a powerful one in our society and our history.

We have been discussing this event in our classrooms. And, there has already been some brainstorming around events for Inauguration Day.

We just want to acknowledge the event and express our hope, pride and optimism for the future.
