After a thorough process, we are pleased to announce that we have hired Emily Jagusch as our new Science teacher.

Emily earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and English from St. Mary’s College and a Master’s Degree in Conservation Biology and Sustainable Development from University of Wisconsin. After spending years creating programs and curriculum for children at the Discovery Creek Children’s Museum of Washington, Emily has been teaching Middle School Science in Baltimore City for the past two years.

In addition to teaching a very strong model lesson and getting very positive feedback from the students, parents and teachers with whom she met, Emily consistently and enthusiastically expressed a deep commitment and energy for implementing a hands-on, engaging,
inquiry-based science program.

Ms. Jagusch will be visiting before the end of the school year, as she
already wants to get started in planning and preparation for next year. Please make her feel welcome.
