As we have already reported, we are hiring a Science Specialist for grades 4-8 next year to really focus on bringing our science instruction to the next level. We have narrowed our search down to two candidates.
As part of the hiring process, every candidate participates in a first interview with the Hiring Committee (which, in this case, consists of six teachers and me). Those who are invited back spend four hours at the school. They observe classes, meet with a group of parents, meet with the Board President, participate in a second interview, and teach a model lesson. The Hiring Committee gets feedback from all constituents (including the students). The process is rigorous…and purposefully so.
The first candidate visited on Thursday. The second candidate will be visiting today. We hope to have a decision made by the next Monday Mailer. We’ll keep you posted.
