Maryland State Assessments will be given to all third through seventh graders starting this week.

On Wednesday and Thursday, students will take the Reading assessment. On Tuesday and Wednesday of next week, students will take the Mathematics portion of the test.

This morning, we met with all of the students to tell them about the upcoming testing plans, to encourage them to do their best, to express our confidence in them, and to help them keep a little perspective on these tests. We also answered their questions.

You can help your child succeed by helping them get a good night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast. It’s also very important
that they arrive on time! You can also help by talking to your child about the test, giving them your confidence, and not putting too much pressure on them.
